Tempranillo - the 'Rioja' grape combines seamlessly with Cabernet Sauvignon to provide structure and Grenache to provide softness. Aged for 24 months in oak and another 36 in the bottle, the flavour integration in this wine is extraordinary. Excellent value for a 'baby Rioja'.
Brilliant garnet red with orangey hues, a complex bouquet of roast chestnuts, spices, vanilla and balsamic.
The vineyards of Bodegas Paniza occupy around 2500 hectares of the up-and-coming region of Cariñena, close to the city of Zaragoza in northeastern Spain. Being the highest vineyards in the area at 850 metres above sea level, they experience cooler-than-average temperatures in the summer and, along with the dry continental climate, this combination helps to create important temperature differences, which results in excellent concentration of colour, sugars, flavour and aromas.
