A very expressive and aromatic wine from Languedoc-Roussillon with lots of fruit and a touch of sweetness. A perfect wine for the aperitif or to accompany spicy or Asian dishes.
There is the fruity red with strawberry and raspberry, the fruity black with blackcurrant: here is the fruity green with its notes of lime and fresh mint. Another idea of ??Muscat. A dress of golden reflections. Nose with aromas of Traminer, exotic fruits such as lychee, walnuts, hazelnuts as well as vegetal and mineral aromas. In the mouth, 7g of residual sugar, a touch of acidity and its pearl side, we perceive floral notes (roses), orange zest and ripe peaches. The finish is medium bodied, structured with a nice freshness on the palate.
It was while traveling around Roussillon that Jeff Carrel and Sébastien Calduch discovered Ansignan, at the other end of Occitanie. The vines they were both looking for were there: goblets in a Pech, little plots, on top of that, some '80s madness, an entire hill of Syrah in an unlikely place in the middle of nowhere. Everything was going to come apart after 150 years of human passion. Under the spell of the place, of what it represents in a wine heritage, they decide to take over the vines and the land, and rename the estate Domaine d'Ansignan. The estate's first vintage came out in 2016, DSM Altitude Wine.
