2022 was the hottest and driest year on record for the Northern Rhône, resulting in rich, powerful wines. This is no exception: a complex wine with lots of black fruit, dried fruit and spice - still retaining lovely acidity and balance despite the drought conditions.
The wine is of an intense, deep, purplish red. The nose is offers nuts, cherries. They are prolonged by peppered, spicy notes, with a hint of violet. The palate is intense and persistent.
A young independent estate, the vineyard is located on the slopes of the village of Saint Pierre de Boeuf, an ideal geographical setting for white and red grape varieties. The terroir is exceptional, the grapevines navigate their way through granite pebbles that make up the soil. The challenging conditions bestow the wine with aromatic richness, tannic structure, and a range of subtle fragrances.
