Who We Are
Our journey in the Alps started back in 2006, when we realised that skiers and holiday-makers in the mountains were not satisfied with the wines they were being offered. We set about to answer their call… since then we have worked with hundreds of chalets, bars, restaurants and hotels, with the united aim of sourcing, supplying and enjoying a good bottle.
The company was launched by two friends, Sam Owens, British owner of a chalet in Chamonix and Roch Braillon, French wine enthusiast working at Domaine de Daurion in the Languedoc region. This Franco-British mix is in the DNA of Le Verre Gourmand; we pride ourselves on our ability to understand and adapt to the different requirements of our French and international consumers alike, thanks to our wonderfully ‘franglais’ team.

The Verre Gourmand team evolves with the seasons, but year-round you can count on the backbone of the company, our strong international team:
Jane Williams has managed all our operations for 14 years, assisted by Arthur Pavarani who manages the warehouse, prepares orders and can be found behind the wheel of a Verre Gourmand van delivering in the summer, while Jane’s dog, Filou, stands guard at the warehouse.
Guillaume Masson our sommelier and sales manager, Phoebe Roth our wine specialist, joined by Cindy Robert our sales and marketing assistant, will assist you in your wine choices and staff training.
Roch Braillon continues to manage the company, assisted by Sarah Hudson for administrative matters. Although they no longer hold an active position in the company, Sam Owens and Adam Breen are still valued associates.

As part of our commitment to environmentally friendly production, we have the procedures and are now a certified organic supplier.
