Who we are…

Le Verre Gourmand SARL is a wine wholesaler based in Passy in the French Alps who distribute wines all over Europe.

The Operations Department of Le Verre Gourmand handles all client orders from inputting, through scheduling, packing, delivering and invoicing of orders, to the receipt of payment. The operations team is also responsible for ordering incoming wine, including the organisation of transport and checking/receipting the wine as it arrives in the warehouse.

About the role…

The role is mostly office based so experience of working in an office environment with Microsoft programmes is an advantage. Training would be given in our logistics software. The Operations Assistant is the first point of contact for many of our clients, either when they visit the warehouse or call to make an order, so a good level of customer service skills are essential. A good standard of English is a must and a basic standard of French (and a willingness to improve) is a significant advantage.

During the winter months the Operations Team is augmented by dedicated packers and drivers, however there may be occasions when the Operations Assistant is required to help with these duties. Therefore for this aspect of the job some experience of driving Renault Master-sized vehicles (3.5TGVW) would be an advantage, and being aged over 21 years with a clean driving licence essential.

You should be fit and healthy and able to lift boxes. The duties of the Operations Assistant are very varied and it is expected (as in any small team) that everyone pitches in to get the job done; there’s no room for prima donnas and a ‘can do’ attitude is imperative. The hours of work are Monday – Friday 9am to 5pm (although flexibility is expected during busy times). It is very important that candidates have a positive attitude, a willingness to learn and are not afraid of hard work.

Key Attributes…

  • Good attention to detail
  • Organised
  • Good communication skills
  • Good standard of English and/or French
  • 100% reliable
  • Presentable with good customer service skills
  • Over 21 years of age with a clean driving licence
  • Fit and able to lift boxes of wine

Remuneration…

The successful applicant will be employed on a French CDD (short term contract for a specified period of time) however, there is the possibility that the role will turn into a permanent job for the right person. The rate of pay is at SMIC level. We do not provide accommodation or lift pass with the job.
