QUICK INTRODUCTION

“My name is Emilien Franciosi and I am 22 years old. I was born in the little village of Theys,
just below Les 7 Laux.

BEFORE WORKING AT LE VERRE GOURMAND

I studied at the Lycée des Portes de Chartreuse to get my ‘bac pro restauration/cuisine’. I
later discovered a passion for wine, beer and spirits (especially rum) when working as a
sommelier at the same time as studying. After this, I worked as manager for a year before
going back to study for my BTS technico-commercial, vins et spiritueux at Carcassonne,
whilst also working on the sales team for a winery in Minervois.

WHY I WANTED TO WORK FOR LE VERRE GOURMAND AND WHAT MY ROLE IS WITHIN THE BUSINESS

My role within the company will be to develop the Centre Alps area (Chambéry, Aix-les-
Bains, Annecy, La Tarentaise, Albertville) and to offer training, tastings and an outside
perspective to Le Verre Gourmand’s customers.
Le Verre Gourmand interested me firstly because of its location in the Alps, but also because
the company is so dynamic. Their goal is not just to sell their products, but also to support
their customers and offer services, this is not the case for many other companies.

WHAT WOULD BE YOUR ADVICE TO A NEW STARTER AT LE VERRE GOURMAND

Trust your team and take their advice.

SKILLS

  • Good product knowledge
  • Knowledge of food and wine pairings
  • Good interpersonal skills (patience, a good listener, good at advice, and most
    importantly, a smile and happiness)
  • Good customer skills: I like to take care of my clients, and make sure they have what
    they want (within reason!)
  • This may be silly, but I love driving!

HOBBIES

Freestyle skiing, freeriding, and sport in general
Music, museums and expositions, trying new food and drink
