An open nose with notes of white flowers. Lively acidity and a lovely smooth texture on the palate. Aromas of pear, citrus fruit and jasmine. Amazing complexity and a long finish.
The year 2022 was hot and very dry with a difficult summer for our vines. Thanks to a plant cover between the rows which has been converted to mulch, with deep rooting of our vines, and a few drops of rain just before the harvest, the vines produced beautiful grapes for us, as ripe as desired. This Chenin vintage reflects the warm vintage, with its generosity of flesh and expression anchored in the freshness of its terroir.
This 15th-century château, built of schist stone, retains a round turret from its original architecture. Established in 1927, the 80-hectare vineyard has been run since 2010 by three partners, David Maugin, Yannis Bretault and Olivier Bretault. An estate of consistent quality.
RVF - 91/100 "Un Chinin bien mûr, à la robe dorée, assumant l'identité solaire de son millésime avec une réelle franchise d'expression. Une puissance libre, une sensation de sucrosité et une identité angevine forte.
