Fruit-forward Bourgogne from excellent Mercurey producer. Lovely violet colour with an open, expressive nose of cherry and plum, balanced by silky tannins.
Deep red/purple reflections. Nose of black fruits (cherries) and vanilla. Expressive, complex and attractive. Young and fresh palate, full of substance, with very supple and round tannins. Finishes on minerality. This wine drinks very well now, but will improve for another 2-3 years."
This 11-hectare estate was taken over in 2007 by Roelof and Marlon Ligtmans-Steinesont, a Dutch couple with a passion for viticulture who decided to embark on their adventure with no other baggage than their desire. Many years later, after hundreds of hours spent training and many more working their own vines, the gamble paid off and the estate is regularly cited in the leading wine guides.
