What They Say
This wine is produced by Château Bernateau, which has been one of our favorites since the start. Right from the start, we established bonds of friendship and trust with Pierrick and Carine Lavau. The estate's wines are tasty, and the mere fact of smelling them makes your mouth water! On the palate, it is a beautiful ripe fruit with a lot of gluttony and purity. Les Baies de Bernateau is made from 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc.
About The Producer Château Bernateau
Chateau Bernateau has been handed down from generation to generation of the Lavau family for more than two centuries. This small estate is located in Saint-Étienne-de-Lisse, where the Lavau family have been cultivating wines since the reign of Louis XIV and Cardinal Mazarin. These ancestral origins serve as a strong motivation to continue their traditional methods in winemaking, while also improving it through learning new knowledge and techniques of wine making today. Mr. and Mrs. Régis Lavau currently manage the property, and since 2002, their son Pierrick, a graduate of the Faculty of Oenology in Bordeaux, has joined them to continue the family legacy. He represents the eighth generation involved in the production of this estate.
