About The Producer Chateau Brane Cantenac
The Baron de Brane, nicknamed the "Napoleon of the vines", bought Château Gorce in 1833. A pioneer in viticulture, he knew the reputation and potential of this exceptional terroir, located on the best slopes of Cantenac: he devoted all his energy and his fortune to it. In 1838, wishing to leave an indelible mark, he chose to rename Gorce: "Brane-Cantenac". In 1925, the Lurton family bought this prestigious vineyard which, from generation to generation, perpetuates the complex, aromatic and delicate style of wine that made the reputation of Brane-Cantenac.
