What We Say

A beautifully concentrated and complex wine. On the nose aromas of ripe dark fruit, spices and oak. Well-structured with smooth tannins and a long finish.

What They Say

Ruby colour with a hint of purple. On the nose, aromas of fresh dark cherry, myrtle and spices (cardamom, black pepper). The palate confirms this – a vivid start, full bodied. Hints of Vanilla and Acacia continue into a long finish, giving depth. Enjoy with rack of lamb, hard cheeses or charcuterie. Le Chemin des Terrasses is an introduction to what the Terrasses du Larzac can offer the wine enthusiast: freshness, fruits, spice – the expression of its terroir.

About The Producer Chateau Capion

The Château Capion estate is made up of 45 hectares of vines planted around its cellar, just opposite one of the most prestigious estates in Languedoc, Mas Daumas Gassac. Bought by Oleg Chirkunov in 2016, the estate and its new team are beginning a major restructuring and conversion of the vineyard to organic farming (labeling for the 2020 vintage). The wines gain finesse, intensity and power. A wine estate to follow closely.

Critics & Awards

2017 - Wine Advocate 92 points 2016 - Decanter 93 points Andreas Larsson, Best Sommelier of the World 2007 - “I love the restraint in this one…freshly crushed berry fruit, good grip and a very long finish with garrigue and pepper.”
