This Second Growth from Saint-Estephe presents a deep garnet color, a bouquet of blackberries, licorice, and graphite, and a powerful palate with concentrated fruit flavors and a long, structured finish.
Château Léoville Las Cases is one of the oldest Médoc wine estates. AOP Saint-Julien, it is classified second growth in the 1855 classification. The vineyard adjoins that of Château Latour, being separated by the Juillac jalle. At the heart of the estate is the Grand Clos, a 50 hectare vineyard entirely surrounded by walls, the entrance to which is guarded by the famous lion adorning the labels of the estate's bottles.
