Filled with crunchy red fruits, this is a fruit-forward, juicy style of Pinot Noir. Although from the South of France, the wine has lots of freshness and retains the typical Pinot Noir notes of earth and higher acidity thanks to the higher altitude vineyards in this appellation. A really lovely wine!
Medium ruby red, typical of a good Pinot Noir. The nose is impressive in its complexity - a mix of sour cherry, kirsch and herbaceous notes, bringing good aromatic freshness. The fruity aromas carry through to the palate which is soft, smooth, and balanced by good acidity. Long and complex finish. Impressive freshness and surprising character, more commonly associated with Pinot Noir from Burgundy. A fine and highly drinkable Pinot Noir with great aromatic precision and an explosion of red fruit flavours.
The IGP Haute Vallée de l’Aude is a protected geographical indication in the Languedoc and known for the excellence and uniqueness of its high-altitude terroirs. It is located around the area of AOP Limoux, in the foothills of the Pyrenees where most of the vineyards are situated at an altitude of 400 meters. Here the terroir is unique, with redominantly clay-limestone soils which allow a high level of water retention, ensuring that the vines do not suffer too much from hydric stress and therefore guaranteeing a perfect balance.
