What They Say

Sichel Sauternes, crafted by one of the most prestigious classified growths of the appellation, enjoys the same meticulous, very special care that goes into producing the top botrytised wines of this renowned appellation. Here, the Sémillon and Sauvignon combine harmoniously to offer a highly expressive bouquet of citrus notes and jammy fruit with a hint of honey. Over an ample, richly extracted base, the palate displays a many-layered, persistent aromatic array of jammy orange and dried fig notes. Drink very chilled. 8 to 12 years.

About The Producer Sichel

A cosmopolitan family with branches all over Europe, the Sichels of Bordeaux were of British origin. Looking back across the generations, we can see that the family’s involvement in the world of wine began in 1856 when Hermann Sichel, then aged 65, set up a wine merchant business in Germany. Ever since it was set up as a buying office in Bordeaux in 1883, Maison Sichel has remained, first and foremost, a family business . Since that time, six generations of the Sichel family have succeeded one another at the company’s helm. Over the years, it has flourished to a trully international dimension.
