About The Producer Domaine Michel Noellat
Domaine Georges Noëllat is located in Vosne-Romanée in Burgundy. Until 2010, much of the harvest was sold in bulk to Louis Jadot and Joseph Drouhin. When 20-year-old Maxime Cheurlin took over the vineyard from George's grandmother and wife, he began his own production of elegant Pinot Noir. He owns 5.5 hectares of vines in the best vineyards of Vosne-Romanée and Nuits-Saint-Georges with plots in the Grand Cru Echezeaux and Grands Echezaux. The vineyard is managed in reasoned agriculture. The harvests are manual, often destemmed and cold macerated before fermentation with indigenous yeasts. Aging lasts between 14 and 20 months in barrels. The wines are bottled without filtration or fining.
