It’s official: summer is in full swing. While you’ve (hopefully) been kicking back, relaxing and getting beautifully bronzed, we’ve been beavering away, cultivating the perfect wine selection to help wile away those long summer nights.
Whether it’s a fresh white, a fruity rosé, a full-bodied red or even some fizz that you’re after, we have it all.
But, I hear you cry, which one should we try first? Worry not, we asked our resident vino experts Adam, Roch and Guillaume for their top picks for staying refreshed this summer.
Take it away boys…
Adam
I’d pick out the Pure Mirabeau Rosécos it is summer in a glass. Lip-smackingly zingy and fresh with plenty of fruit to keep your palate entertained. It comes in a sexy-looking bottle and, if you’re feeling thirsty, it’s available in magnums too.
Wine #2? What about parking the heavy-hitters and reaching for a nice light red? Beaujolais or maybe a bit of Pinot Noir – our Manoir de Carra Fleurie or Guiton Bourgogne Pinot Noirspring to mind – perfect reds for the days when darker, oakier ‘winter warmer wines’ would be too much hard work. Don’t be scared to serve them at cellar temperature or even slightly cooler to enjoy them out in the sunshine.
Roch
I’ll go for the Cava Naveran, a great sparkling to make a change from Prosecco, fresh zippy nose, elegant mouth with a bit of body, ideal for an aperitif in the sun.
I’ll go with the Versant Viognier, a great expressive white wine for summer. Fresh and intense nose of ripe apricots, juicy peaches and tropical overtones. Enhanced on the palate with rich stone fruits and an uplifting citrus acidity that flows into a long finish.
It will match perfectly with white meat, rich salads, seafood and shellfish- ideal for summer entertaining.
For my second, I’ll go for the Alpha Zeta Valpolicella Ripasso, it’s a deep red colour with a concentrated perfume of red and black cherries, with the ripasso adding a dried cherry intensity. Full-bodied on the palate, with a lovely balance between an opulent cherry-pie character and a supple structure. Good length with a mouthwatering bitter-cherry twist on the finish.
It will go perfectly with grilled meat or steak, or team with a mix of fresh vegetables for a summer evening!

Then I’ll go for the Casamatta Rosso from Bibi Graetz, full of fruit, fresh, round, ideal for summer lunches or barbecues and a classy Paul Thomas Sancerre, that I can drink all night long.
